Erratic weather conditions

If you live in Toronto you know about the really weird weather occurring this week. One day 50 km wind gusts would threaten to blow us away and the next day would be too hot for even a light cardigan.
That's exactly what lead me to borrow this jumper from my boy's closet and pair it up with my most favorite and extremely uncomfortable cowboy boots.

On another note, the bag you see in the photos, cost me just over a 100 dollars from Nine West and broke after being used for less than a month. I was really hurt  because when you are a student , 100 dollars is a big deal and am I a fool to have expected it to last longer than a month???

Also if you were wondering where I disappeared to as of late.....I was buried under mountains of Development Studies and Glacial Sedimentology notes!!! Now the mid terms are finally over but I have 1 poster, 3 esseys, 1 midterm and a journal assignment due next month. Not to mention the endless pages of Glacial Sedimentology readings.

However, I am really trying to manage my time as best as I can and also working on bringing some exciting additions to this blog. So please stay with me people. I really do love you very much and truly appreciate the time you spend here.

Is it fashion or is it art????

I know this is probably ancient history, the SS 2009 campaign for Christian Louboutin by world famous still life photographer Peter Lipmann . But honestly, does works of art like these ever go out of style???

In case you have not noticed, I got a formspring account. Now all those questions that were bubbling inside your head...you can get answers to....and the best part is..you can be anonymous too. Sixty five roses for the maven of majorca

This is what I wore to a rendezvous in the music garden with my boy on a sunny and unusually warm October afternoon.

I am wearing quite a few of my favorites here. The double sided pashmina that I got from a Tibetan store in St. Lawrence Market & the "Maven of Majorca" dress that I bought a few months ago from Mod Cloth and never ended up photographing.

However the star of the show was this amazing vintage straw briefcase from Sixty Five Roses on Etsy. I have been looking for something just like this for a long time so the moment I laid my eyes on it, you can imagine my surprise and happiness!!!!! Sixty Five Roses has a very touching and unique story behind the name of her store and I would urge you with all my heart to visit her store and know for yourself what the story is. Go ahead, it will be just one more click for you, but it might make a life changing difference for somebody.

Every time one of you clicks Follow/ Like.....you put a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggeee smile on my face.

On another note, I have a true love hate relationship with this dress I am wearing today. It looks really good on me, if I may say so. But it's a wrap dress and every time there is a breeze, I risk some serious indecent exposure. I tried to give it away almost 3 times now, but mysteriously it always finds its way back into my closet.

Do YOU have an item of clothing you just can't seem to part with no matter how hard you try? Let us know in the comments.

Lakme India Fashion Week Winter festive 2010 the grand finale - Part IV

For the grand finale of Lakme India Fashion Week Winter Festive 2010, let me present to you two extraordinary designers, Manish Arora and Manish Malhotra whom I lovingly refer to as the M&M's. The designer who inspired me to pursue a career in fashion was Manish Malhotra when I was merely 13 and the man who always makes me think outside the box is Manish Arora. When you look at their collections for LIFW you might think they live on exact polar opposites on a fashion spectrum of sensibility. Manish Malhotra is all about traditionalism and would make any woman look beautiful, whereas it would need a strong woman to be able to wear Manish Arora's clothes and not to let them wear her. But that's enough words, let the creations speak for themselves.

Without further ado, here is Manish Malhotra's gorgeous winter/ festive collection.

The second my eyes fell on Manish Arora's collection there was only one lady I could think of.... Anybody guess who that lady is???

So, how did you like this year's LIFW winter festive collections? Who was YOUR favorite? Let me know in the comments!!

For those of who have not had their fill of fashion week yet, please do stay tuned, because LG Toronto fashion week starts tomorrow and needless to say I will have quite a few favorites to share with you.

Until next time......
